We Believe

You may have noticed a new addition to my sidebar...

If you've been around the blog world for a while now, you're probably familiar with that button and what it means. If not, it's a button commonly used by Mormon bloggers who want to share their beliefs because it's an important part of their identity and who they are. It's not about forcing beliefs on people or 'converting' them, but rather providing a link to the LDS website so people can find out more from the source rather than from the rumour mill that is the Internet!

If you're not interested in hearing my story about becoming a member of the Church, that's okay! I just want a place to record my thoughts and feelings, and since it is a part of my life, I will be sharing it here on the blog from time to time.

I won't start with my whole story just yet but I will share a few points. I became a member of the church on 30 September 2012 and attended the Chermside Ward up until a few short weeks ago. Jordan and I were called to be Primary Teachers earlier this year and we had such an amazing time with our class, most of the time we learnt just as much, if not more than our students!! We'll miss the kids, and our amazing Ward, but we've got a new adventure ahead of us that I'm looking forward to telling you all about!!

This blog

Last night I was thinking of this here blog of mine and decided that it's time to start writing again. I want to have a place to record my thoughts, our journey and adventures, and I want to share these things with our family, our friends and anyone else who is interested! I want a place that I can come back to in time and see how crazy our life was. I want a place were I can record the joy and happiness that we have each and every day so we can look back and see the love that surrounds us.

Previously I've filtered the things I've written and published here, worried about how it would be perceived. Well that's going to change, things are going to get more real! Don't worry, I'm not going to start posting our address or share crazy opinions, but I am going to be share more of what's on my heart.

I hope that you decide to stick around and share in our journey.

A very late 'Happy 2012'!

Hey guys. Sorry for being MIA but I'm back!!There's been a lot happening over the past few months so here's a little recap before we get back into things...

We were busy in October with getting things finalised for my bff, Manda's baby shower for our future godson, and ended up with a car full of DIY projects!!It was a fantastic day and was great seeing everything in action | At the end of the month Jordan travelled down south for his initial Army training which meant being away from home for 4 weeks. The night before he left we squeezed in a fun game of bowling and of course I won!!

While Jordan was away I made sure to keep myself busy with lots of home decorating (FINALLY had an opportunity to get the house freshened up and organised, and the master bedroom looking relaxing) | I made the time for lots of movie dates, and loved the inner city outdoor cinema  which had the most beautiful backdrop imaginable | I also managed to try my hand at some new beauty/fashion looks like this glitter mani from blogger icon Maegan which is now my favourite nail look | At the end of November Jordan fnished his initial Army training and I got to travel to Sydney to watch him march out with his platoon which was an incredible moment.

I LOVE Christmas and was so happy that Jordan was home in time for us to decorate the tree and get ready for and celebrate the holidays | We finally went on the Christmas Lights Tour which was a great way to see the displays around the community, not having to worry about traffic and parking etc meant that it was super relaxing and so much more enjoyable | I ordered this decoration from the beautiful Ashley's etsy store fetch & co. to help raise money for her beautiful puppy Bella's knee surgery | I'd never decorated a ginerbread house this this was the perfect activity for our Christmas Eve, we're hoping to get better each year! | This year was our first Christmas by ourselves and as a married couple so we made sure to make it feel special and used all of our new serving ware that we were lucky to recieve as wedding gifts. It was a brilliant day and we enjoyed it so, so much!

And what may be my biggest update that my twitter followers might have already noticed...

I hope you all had an amazing break over the holiday season and have had a great start to the New Year! I'm looking forward to catching up on all of your news!!

October Photo Challenge: Day Six

Day Six: From a low angle

On the way home from a fun date night we made a detour so I could capture this image of a beautiful church in the middle of the city. It's incredible to see it up on this little hill, surrounded by dozens of high-rise office buildings...

October Photo Challenge: Day Five

Day Five: From a high angle

This one was super fun, I spent most of the day taking shots of things that caught my eye. You might have noticed that I am a bit of a details girl rather than landscapes, and although this challenge is supposed to help us push beyond the normal, baby steps!!

Today over my afternoon cup of lemon and ginger tea, I got inspired to created a little something "from the heart" to surprise Jordan with for our THREE MONTH wedding anniversary! Jeez, where on earth have the last three months gone?? Long story short, I wanted to incorporate part of our wedding vows and create something we could display either in our bookshelf, on the gallery wall or pin on our boards. I'm not going to share the final product with you because I do still want to surprise husband (plus, I'm not willing to part with my rings!)
